OK so this is my first post in an all-new blog. I moved out from the previous weblog host as it is not all that user-friendly, plus the weblog community there is not as big as this. It is important to be part of the mainstream! :)
So I haven't been blogging for more than a month. Please blame my job (job, not career) for it. Seriously, the past 3 weeks were a slur of activities for me. Every bit of my energy was squeezed, I am just happy to go home and go straight to bed - I can't afford to think anymore, not even to think whether I ought to eat dinner that day.
I have heard about audit's busy/ peak period ever since I started study for my Accounting diploma. From the lecturers, colleagues, friends, the notorious "audit peak period" remains just another myth. I risked my social life and join the audit line though I know it is going to change my life topsy turvy. But hey, a year in a Big 4 accounting firm, my life was pretty normal. Went through audit peak period once, don't think I was badly affected.
Yes, true, I wasn't affected because I was a junior. This year I am a semi-senior. More responsibilities, more workload, burdened with ever-tight deadlines. Oh my! Everyday my heart beats so fast, afraid that I can't meet the deadlines, it's not helping that the manager is on the tab waiting on me to catch up! I don't want to eat lunch for fear I couldn't finish my work, I am scared whenever an email comes into my inbox - maybe my manager notices an issue out of the company audited? In audit, issues = death. Everyday I went home I straight away continue working, weekends are dedicated to work. And to juggle 3-4 jobs at once!!
That I haven't got time to prepare for my engagement last Saturday. The day has come, and passed. There are many things I wish I can improve for the better, how I wish I can turn back time. But after all, I am glad that things went well on that day. It was a small and simple event, and now I am no longer a single woman :) Hope things go smooth right up until December!
Thanks to everyone who had sacrificed so much for my engagement day, Mak and Abah who cared so much about the little details and ever so open to suggestions, siblings who ran around the island to cater to last minute enhancements, relatives who came from far and brought with them experiences in handling such event, and my fiance and his family and relatives who made me feel special that day :)

Blessed Year of the Cow
Why am I so lazy in updating my blog nowadays? Is this the end of my blogging days thus labelled myself as hangat-hangat tahi ayam? Hmm I hope not. Not that I am lazy. Busy, more like.
Since it has been aeons since I last wrote, let's see what has happened in between: -
1) I survived the first week of the infamous audit peak period, thanks to the tight US reporting deadline. Wow never worked this late before all the while I am in EY for the past one year. More than 12 hours staring at the computer screen, multi-tasking other errands. Though stressful as it was, I find it quite fun in the sense that we worked together as a big team (as the client is a big, established MNC) so there were many people you can talk and joke around with. Me and my colleagues amuse ourselves by making twice-a-day trips to the Koperasi everyday, almost. We bought asam, sweets, sandwiches, anything at all. I think when we the auditers came in the Koperasi's sales must have boost up by 30% or something. LOL. And thank God the client I had to deal with was very nice! Some of my colleagues were not that fortunate though. Well, like our Partner used to tell us, we are at the mercy of our clients. They pay our salary. However bitter the medicine is, swallow it with a big smile...
2) After the hectic week I pampered myself to a facial treatment session, foot reflexology and shoulder/ neck massage. Fuhhh best gila rasa badan ni. Bestnya kalau every week macam ni. Hmm ni pun courtesy of bonus yang ciput the Company bagi, this is the first time me enjoying the bonus payout, last year I joined a month too late to be eligible for it. Kasi can laa kan? ;p
3) Went to KL for Xmas hols and spent a good 5 days there! And see my Dear everyday of course! Though Dear's mom kena admitted into the hospital due to prolapse invertebrae disorder (don't know how to explain it medically but it's like sakit-sakit tulang or lenguh-lenguh due to falls or heavy activities). I was worried as it seemed very serious at that time, with ambulance came to the house and all but towards the New Year Auntie got better. Alhamdulillah...
4) When I was in KL, me, Pinky, Zamir and Kiko went for a road trip to Melaka to visit Lynn and her new-born baby Delisha! Jumpa jugak dengan Lynn akhirnya. She will be going back to London end of this month after being in Malaysia for about 5 months. It's good to see her and the baby so healthy. To think that just 5 years ago we rode on the scooter to class everyday in UiTM :) Good old times...
So...all in all...I spent most of my bonus payout. Got to save the remainder a.s.a.p.!!!!

Wasted Saturday!
What a waste of a beautiful Saturday...
Wanted to go out and treat myself to something nice but I woke up late due to last night's stupid funfair ride that made me end up feeling dizzy and nauseous up until this moment of writing this entry. Wanted to go for my evening jog but this headache has been pounding on my head thanks to last night's ride.
And I am not feeling good emotionally as well. Some other person's bad mood has successfully infected me.
Anyway after that uneventful ride that got me all pening-pening lalat, I got to sit at a corner while waiting for my sisters and brother enjoying themselves on other rides and eat funfair food of cold nuggets-on-a-stick, chewy keropok lekor and stale iced Milo (which I might give in and indulge thus spoiling my diet should I not feeling vomit-like). And so I sat at a corner a bit far from the excited crowd with their head hung up in the sky toiling back and forth following the motion of the tall rides at the same time basking in the distasteful and deafening of at least 6 dance and trance music blasting simultaneously.
Oh gosh, my headache and nausea got worse just by sitting there. But anyway I got to watch the crowd filled with mostly young teenagers in groups spending away their Friday night. I know I have seen today's teenagers everywhere, last night was not the first time that I get to look at them closely and think about the situation that they are in. Hm I am not talking about the cool fashion trend that they get to don in and get away without people sniggering behind their back. I am more worried about the their future, what's with the current economic backlash.
If you Google “unemployed graduates” you’ll find a string of blogs, news archives relating to Malaysian unemployed graduates. According to a source, there are 60,000 unemployed Malaysian graduates. Wow, that's a lot. Hmm I wonder whether that number tops the total UiTM students, the one and only university in Malaysia that has a branch like, everywhere.
There are some quarters who sympathize with these graduates and even blame corporate companies for not making available more opportunities. The numbers are crazy, ridiculous and ludicrous – as is all the sympathy being showered on these graduates. As the number increases, the attitude and ability of the graduates go downhill. Which I totally agree. Myself I do mingle with students, not through job but it so happens that my brother and boyfriend are undergraduates themselves. And many of my friends are either studying or just graduated.
I do agree that a small percentage of the students possess highly sought-after skills and have the right attitute to go with it. But the majority are just there at the university with no other objectives and life missions than just to melawa, melaram, mencari teman hidup dan menggedik. Ohoho believe me please, I have witnessed the scenario and became a victim of the situation myself.
These kids, shameful enough being born close to a quarter of a century already but not able to carry a decent conversation. And you call yourself a degree student? When they talk, it's all empty you can even hear the clanking of a tin kosong. Siap diselang-selikan oleh perkataan-perkataan yang tak sedap telinga didengar. Yes, that includes the F word. They think they are so cool to utter the F word.
Call me whatever you want but I am so sick of those kids who have got nothing better to do than pose cutely and self-snap themselves with a digital camera or a camera phone. That's their daily activities in the university. Apart from the abovementioned. Tak malu betul nak act cute and let the rest of the world to see how poyo you are. The sad thing is, people actually think they are cute and start telling their partners to act/ wear/ pose/ have similar hairdo.
These kids they may have the looks, but no brains.
Hmm you must be wondering what possessed me again this time to write such an hateful and anger-filled entry. Maybe the fact that I am disappointed with myself not to fill in such a lovely Saturday with better things to do.

Anything can happen
You can be caught off-handed anytime nowadays if you're oblivious to your surroundings. When you have grown into your little familiar world, you know every bird chirpings and rustle of wind, you are very wrong when you feel that you're safe.
That's what I used to think. Until my house got broken into last night.
Even though we were all scared and frustrated that the incident happened, we were all very thankful to God that at least we are all safe and breathing. Not slaughtered off like those unfortunate souls you tend to read about everyday in the news.
We think that this is a dugaan from Allah SWT, and we can only pray that the incident won't happen again, semoga Allah menggantikan dengan ganjaran yang lebih baik nikmatnya daripada apa yang telah diambil oleh-Nya.
The valuables that we have lost away to that rotten fella who broke in, mungkin semua itu ditakdirkan untuk hanya dipinjamkan sementara kepada kita. Tak ada rezeki nak simpan lama-lama. Subhanallah.

Supermom
I have been wanting to write this entry about this dear friend of mine, Erlina the Superwoman. Hmm nope she does not wear a supertight size S costume and fly in and out of Langkawi saving people in distress nor does she ever wear glasses helping her father in their farm. Why I say she is a superwoman is that she is strong physically, mentally, spiritually and emotionally, all in. And she is able to exude her aura to the people around her, influencing them all for the good. She is a good role model in a sense.
I remembered when we used to hang out when studying in Kedah some years ago, she was always able to voice out her thoughts and opinions and making them sound very convincing that you almost believe every words she say. You see, it is not about whether it is the truth or not that she is saying, it is more to being confident and sure of yourself. And Erlina is that. Needless to say, I was always terperangkap with her crazy ideas and plans. I remembered this one time on a New Year's eve, I was happily awaiting on the new year reciting some verses from the Quran in my hostel room, Erlina barged in and managed to persuade me to travel back all the way to Penang that night to celebrate the New Year's eve in Penang. Let me also inform you guys that our uni is right smack in the middle of a nowhere land and you need to travel about 25mins through a vast rubber estate/ jungle, no road side lamps, you can bump into anything, and I do mean anything, along the road.
Erlina always seem to know what she wants. She wanted a happy family, so she married her then sweetheart Masri. She knew back then that she had better options and marriage was not the only option that she has. She can always go to London, be with her mom and get a UK degree. But she thought long term and knew her priorities in life, and she did not just put herself in the picture.
Who would want to throw away a glamorous life in London and live in a kampung in a hot small little island in northern Malaysia?
However, she is doing pretty well as a wife. Then, a mother to a beautiful girl, Emilia. I don't know that you can provide so much to someone and still have enough left for another. She is a wonderful wife, and a terrific mother. There are so many things to write about what she has done, I just don't know where to start :) But the things that she did really teach me a great lesson; be really really sure of what you want, do it with all your heart and soul. Be ikhlas and insya Allah God will help you achieve. And the satisfaction will come thereafter and you will have no regrets.

No 2 is good enough!
Heralding the no 2 champion of MICPASS hiking competition last Saturday....Ernst & Young! :) (though I was not the one who made it for the winning time count but hey, it's all about team spirit right?!)
It was all about good fun, thanks to the managers who are also the sponsors for the event, i.e. Mr Chin and Su Ling who went up to hike with us! Also thanks for the nasi kandar treat! As per Mr Chin, we all retrieve back all the calories burnt by loading up on the curry sotong, udang, ayam, mutton bla bla. Hehe. Once in a while la! Can right!! :P
Also congratulations to KPMG who made it to the first spot. I guess you all deserved it, since the winning guy took only 20minutes from the starting point to the top. Wahlaaweiiii!

As I mature...
... the lessons that I have learned along the way in life are:
1) I've learned that you cannot make someone love you. All you can do is stalk them and hope they panic and give in...
2) I've learned that no matter how much I care, some people are just jackasses.
3) I've learned that it takes years to build up trust, and it only takes suspicion, not proof, to destroy it.
4) I've learned that whatever hits the fan will not be evenly distributed.
5) I've learned that you shouldn't compare yourself to others - they are more screwed up than you think.
6) I've learned that depression is merely anger without enthusiasm.
7) I've learned that it is not what you wear; it is how you take it off.
8) I've learned that you can keep vomiting long after you think you're finished.
9) I've learned to not sweat the petty things, and not pet the sweaty things.
10) I've learned that no matter how beautiful your relationship is in the beginning, it is never going to stay that way unless you and your partner work hard to maintain it that way.
11) I've learned age is a very high price to pay for maturity.
12) I've learned that we are responsible for what we do, unless we are celebrities.
13) I've learned that artificial intelligence is no match for natural stupidity.
14) I've learned that there is a fine line between genius and insanity.
15) I've learned that the people you care most about in life are taken from you too soon and all the less important ones just never go away. And the real pains in the a$$ are permanent.
I don't always have the answers to everything, But I know what to question... and my sixth sense seldom betrays me...
